Tree work, felled and cleared by one team

GroundCore are tree surgeons for homes, businesses and development sites across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. We fell, dismantle and remove trees, carry out crown reductions and pruning, deal with the stump, cut back or take out hedges, and clear the waste before we leave.

Our team is NPTC-qualified and insured, and tree work sits naturally alongside our clearance and groundworks. We turn up with the right kit for the job: climbing gear and chainsaws for careful work in tight spaces, our own chipper, and an excavator-mounted hydraulic shear for bigger clearances. One team, one quote, and the ground left ready for what comes next.

We take on tree work for homeowners, developers, managing agents and local authorities across the region.

What we offer

The work we take on

Tree felling

Trees taken down safely and under control, with the fall planned around buildings, fences and people.

Sectional dismantling

Where there is no room to fell, trees climbed and taken down piece by piece, lowered under control.

Tree removal

Dead, dying, storm-damaged or unwanted trees removed, along with the timber and brash.

Crown reduction and thinning

Crowns reduced, thinned or lifted to let in light, clear buildings and keep the tree healthy.

Pruning and tree maintenance

Deadwood, overhanging and problem limbs pruned back properly, without butchering the tree.

Stump grinding and removal

Stumps ground out below ground level, or smaller stumps dug out with our own excavator.

Hedge removal and cutting back

Overgrown hedges cut back hard or taken out completely, roots and all.

Chipping and waste removal

Branches chipped on site and the arisings and timber taken away, or left on site if you prefer.

Site tree clearance

Trees and scrub cleared from plots and development sites with our excavator-mounted hydraulic shear.

Our own kit

Felled, chipped and cleared by one team

Plenty of tree jobs end with a pile of branches and a stump nobody wants to deal with. We bring what it takes to finish the job properly: chainsaws and climbing kit for the tree work, our own GroundCore chipper for the brash, and plant for the stumps and the heavy lifting.

Because we organise it all, there is no waiting on a second firm to collect the waste or a third to deal with the stump. The tree comes down, the site is cleared and the ground is left ready.

  • Our own chipper, so branches are chipped on site
  • Excavator-mounted hydraulic shear for large clearances
  • Stumps ground out, or dug out with our own plant
  • Timber taken away or left on site, logging on request
  • An NPTC-qualified and insured team
  • The site left clean and tidy

Tree surgery FAQ

Questions, answered

It depends on the size of the tree, how easy it is to reach, what sits around it, and whether you want the stump and the wood taken away. We come out, look at the job and give you a clear, no-obligation quote, so you know the full cost before any work starts.

Usually not, but a tree covered by a Tree Preservation Order needs the council's consent before it is cut down, lopped or uprooted, and in a conservation area you must give the council six weeks' notice first. If you are not sure, we will help you check before any work is booked.

Yes. Tree work is not banned in summer, but it is an offence to damage or destroy a wild bird's nest while it is in use or being built. We check every tree for active nests before we cut, and hold off where we find one.

Late autumn and winter usually suit planned tree work best: the leaves are down, the tree is dormant, and it falls outside the busiest part of the nesting season. Dead, dangerous or storm-damaged trees are different and are best dealt with as soon as possible.

Yes. We grind stumps out below ground level, or dig smaller stumps and roots out with our own excavator, so the ground is ready for a new lawn, a patio or a build.

We chip the branches on site with our own chipper and take the arisings and timber away, leaving the ground clear and tidy. If you would rather keep the wood, we can leave it on site, and cutting it into logs can be added to the job.

Yes. We clear trees for developers, businesses and local authorities, from a single tree on a car park to whole plots ahead of a build. It slots straight into our site clearance and enabling works, so one team takes the ground from overgrown to development-ready.
